INFRARED PHOTOGRAPHY

Infrared photography creates a spiritual, ethereal image. Because we are not able to see the infrared spectrum of light (UV light  allows us to see light reflecting on our world but infrared light is invisible to the human eye.) Using a converted, digital camera with an infrared filter, the foliage becomes white because of the heat from the sun which warms the foliage when photographed in infrared. The living quality of the foliage which I, many times take for granted, is something that amazes me each time I photograph with infrared.

 Indigenous Peoples believe balance and harmony are maintained by returning thanks to the earth for her gifts. “We must always remember that the land does not belong to us. We belong to the land”.
